Redux: International Gold Cup 2012

Back in October, I attended my first derby, the International Gold Cup held in Great Plains, VA. Having been a casual fan of horse racing since childhood, it was great to finally see some thoroughbreds race through a course at full tilt . The field of the jockeys, the anxious anticipation of the starting gates, and the nervous excitement of the colorful crowds make derby days such an amazing place to be. The celebratory atmosphere is infectious, and it’s a great way to spend a day with old and new friends.
