History:Americana

I thought it would be appropriate to share some American spirit on this day that we remember, with heavy hearts, the sacrifices throughout the years that provide us the freedoms and foundations of this nation that we call home.

A while back, I took a drive out to the town of Manassas on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The town is famous for being the site of the famous Battle of Bull Run, so that’s where I decided to spend some time exploring. Coming from the Northern states, it was interesting to see the commemoration of Confederate figures at an actual battleground. It serves as a good reminder that we, the United States of America, were built upon the extraordinary courage and efforts of the men and women who proceeded to fight for their beliefs in the hopes of building a better nation. The quiet juxtaposition of today’s historical site and the fiery battleground from over 125 years ago was poignant.

In memory of all those who have given themselves to defending and to the furthering of this great nation.
