I’ve got a newfound fascination with bespoke tailoring.
Drakes London is a Mayfair institution that has been around since 1977 but only recently last month opened up a brick-and-mortar shop. The label was established relatively recently in 1977 be Michael Drake. He started the design house with scarves mainly but then also turned to ties at the suggestion of an acquaintance. In turn, Drakes London was born and is now famous for their ties and scarves, especially with the Real Ancient Madder print. The label also prides themselves on being the largest independent tie-maker in England and emphasizes the proper construction of all their pieces using traditional English methods.
Hypebeast recently visited the Drakes London factory and got some great shots.
Needless to say, I am excited to be receiving my first bowtie EVER from Drakes.
