quick DC foodie things for this month


I made some reservations for DC’s upcoming Restaurant Week (Jan. 17-23) at 701 Restaurant in DC and at Bastille in Alexandria, VA. I’m looking forward to checking these two places out with some friends, as the feedback I’ve heard about them is pretty positive.

Also, I will be calling Minibar (the one run by Jose Andres) to see if I can get a reservation sometime in the early Spring. That would be a real treat. They’ve got some of the toughest reservations to snag in the area. 6 seats and 27 courses of molecular gastronomy are the rewards for it’s diners.

Also looking to try AGAINN, a new gastropub in the vein of the British Isles. Heard lots of good things about it, and the atmosphere and prices are quite compelling to boot.
