Glee – “Teenage Dream”

I’ve been following the FOX TV show Glee ever since its inception last year. The thing that makes me like the show is the music and performances that they incorporate into the story because it sets the show apart from all the other primetime dramas and cliche doom-and-gloom seriousness that’s found in today’s media. The show releases songs and albums every time there’s a new episode, and they generally have some good hits and some misses as well.

Last night’s episode featured an acapella version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” performed by the Tufts Beezlebubs (played by characters who were part of an all boys prep school). This song is definitely one of the hits because of its mellow interpretation and awesome harmonies. It brings the best of the song out and also features those classic acapella components that made me be a real fan of the genre in the first place.
