I took this picture back in the summer while in Rome, Italy. It was the last night of our holiday trip to Europe, and I was trying to get some shots of the great street scenes as I was riding on the bus back to the hotel. The sun was setting just perfectly in a clear, almost cloudless sky, and I happened to see this street and snap a shot of the traintracks as we were passing by. The softening tone of shooting through the bus window glass helps to mellow the brightness of the sun. I’m really surprised as to how well my Canon SD point and shoot captured this. It definitely takes me back to the old streets of Rome whenever I look at it.
